“Jim and Family and Nelson Family,

You've been in my thoughts constantly these past few days. I'm sorry I couldn't be with you at visitation or Nib's funeral. The photo of Nib here is quintessential Nib! I smile every time I look at it. He was quite the guy. I don't think he had a mean bone in his body. He was a true gentleman and a class act. My dad died 6 years ago this weekend (9/11/10). I'll bet he and Nib are doing a lot of catching up right now.

Jim, our two families go way back. I remember when Marilyn died. Oh, the sadness... The whole 16th Street neighborhood adopted you and your dad. I also tecall Esther Johnson staying with you when school was out in the summer. Oh, she loved you.

After awhile, Nib began dating a little. We all thought, "Good for him!" I was your babysitters some of those nights. I still chuckle when i think about the time Nib didn't come home until 5;30 a.m. I thought, "You go, Nib! :-)

Along came the lovely Dorothy Nelson and Nib was totally smitten. When they got married, it was supposed to be a small, private, family-only affair., I believe. Well, my mom, Esther Johnson and Rosalee Didericksen (sp?) weren't having any of that! They basically invited themselves and their families to Nib and Dorothy's wedding! How funny!

I remember how happy Nib and Dorothy were that day. I remember Kathie Nelson playing the organ. I also took notice of those HOT brothers of Kathy's. Ha!

You got a wonderful mom and instant siblings that day and two lovely people and their children, who had experienced more than their share of sadness in life became one, big happy family.

I'm pretty sure I don't have to tell any of you how lucky and blessed you have been.

Nib was loved by many and he live s long, full life.

My deepest sympathy to you all. Enjoy your memories.

“We had the privilege to meet with Nib and his wife Dorothy in 2005 and 2009, as we were visiting Mike and Jeanne Coverdale. Later on, as his wife Dorothy passed away, we saw photos on Facebook when Nib and Mike had their adventures. Nib was always very interested in our stories about Europe and was telling us about WW II. A very nice and kind person. There must be a lot of memories to cherish and to remember Nib.
We will be thinking of you on Thursday, september 8th and in our prayers.
May you rest in peace, dear Nib.

“We first knew Nib during about 20 years in the Nevada Lions Club, and more recently in our twice weekly exercise class. Nib was such a fine gentle person and at the same time enjoyed teasing certain people in class, especially the young instructor. I know that every member of that group will greatly miss him. We certainly wish to extend our condolences to the family.
