Jimmie LeRoy Mittlestadt, age 80, of Romeo, Michigan, and formerly of Cambridge, Iowa, passed away October 17, 2016, at St. Joseph Mercy Oakland Hospital in Pontiac, Michigan.
Joint graveside services for Jimmie and his brother, Clayton Mittlestadt, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 3, 2017, at the Cambridge Cemetery in Cambridge with Roger Griffith officiating.
Jim was born to Frank and Lillie (Pelham) Mittlestadt in Cambridge on December 22, 1935. He was one of 12 who graduated from Cambridge High School with the Class of 1953.
Jim served in the United States Navy. He enjoyed buying and restoring older homes, as well as sharing old pictures and memories with friends and family. He loved his dog Smokey and was heartbroken at his passing.
Jim was a strong union man who worked most of his adult life at Ford Motor Company and moved many years ago with his job to Romeo, Michigan.
Survivors include a brother, Jerry Mittlestadt of San Diego, CA; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, June Aldrich and Helen Aldrich; and his brothers Ed and Herman Mittlestadt. One surviving brother, Clayton, passed away on January 9, 2017.
Ryan Funeral Home of Nevada has been entrusted with the care of Jimmie and his family.
