Donna Moore, age 80, of Story City, Iowa, died Wednesday, December 28, 2016, at Israel Family Hospice House in Ames, Iowa.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, January 7, 2017, at CrossRoad Baptist Church in Ames, with Pastor Will Hatfield officiating.  Visitation will be held at the church one hour prior to services.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family. 

Born December 28, 1936, in Monroe, Iowa, Donna Faye Moore was the daughter of Ray and Letha Marie (Bell) Nearmyer.  She grew up and received her education in the Newton, Iowa, area. 

On April 8, 1960, Donna was united in marriage to Ivan Moore.  The couple made their home in Newton until 1973, then moved to Montezuma where they lived until settling in Story City in 1980.  They were blessed with four children, Tim, Mark, Martin, and LaDonna.

During her time in Newton, Donna was a charter member of Immanuel Baptist Church.  Most recently, she was an active member of CrossRoad Baptist Church in Ames.  Church and family were Donna’s greatest joy and priority.

Survivors include her husband, Ivan; three children, Tim (Beccy) Moore of Radcliffe, Martin (Margaret) Moore of Shepherdsville, KY, and LaDonna (Jason) Poock of Nevada; eight grandchildren, Lindsey (Tyler) Oelschlager and Matthew Moore, of Radcliffe, Nicholas Moore and Andrew Moore, both of Shepherdsville, KY, and Hannah, Jacob, Katherine, and Levi Poock, all of Nevada; and two great-grandchildren, Madison and Riley Oelschlager.  She is also survived by three sisters, Ruth (Don) Trott of Dillsburg, PA, Sue (Keith) Jones of Newton, and Sharon (Steve) Dick of Mesa, AZ; as well as many nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.

Donna was preceded in death by a son, Mark Moore; her parents; and a brother, Laverne “Bud” Nearmyer. 

Ryan Funeral Home of Nevada has been entrusted with the care of Donna and her family.
