Dale W. See, age 67, of Fort Walton Beach, Florida, and formerly of Nevada, Iowa, died at Fort Walton Beach Memorial Hospital in Fort Walton Beach on Thursday, January 26, 2017.

Memorial services will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 10, 2017, at Memorial Lutheran Church in Nevada, with Pastor Myron Herzberg officiating.  Memorial visitation will be held at the church one hour prior to services.  Joint committal services for Dale and his father, Ernest See, will follow in Evergreen Memory Gardens, rural Nevada, with military honors by William F. Ball Post No. 48 of the American Legion.   

Born January 18, 1950, in Ames, Iowa, Dale Wayne See was the son of Ernest and Pearl (Peterson) See.  He grew up and received his education in Nevada, graduating from Nevada High School, then proudly served in the United States Navy.

Dale married Matilde Escalante on November 24, 1980.  They were divorced in 2014, but remained friendly and supportive of one another, to their individual health, wellness, caregiving and medical needs.

Following his retirement from military service, Dale made his home in Fort Walton Beach, Florida.  He was employed by BAE Systems, later at Metrics, then Vitro and lastly with DRS.  Dale also volunteered and served on the Fort Walton Beach beautification committee. 

Survivors include his step-children, Roger Jason Shrewsbury of Florida, and Michelle Liana Escalante-Roberts of Georgia; as well as three grandchildren, Kailey, William and Dominick; his loving and caring brother, Randy See of Maurice; his second mother, Marilynn See of Nevada; an uncle, Harlan Borton; aunt, Delores Evans; and his gained siblings, Dan, Mike, Deb, Pam, Teresa and Michelle.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Ryan Funeral Home of Nevada has been entrusted with the care of Dale and his family.
