David W. Slaybaugh, age 57, of Nevada, died at his home on Saturday, February 11, 2017.
Per his wishes, no service will be held.
Born June 8, 1959, in Maquoketa, Iowa, David William Slaybaugh was the son of Keith William and Lucille (Hubbe) Slaybaugh. He graduated from Nevada High School in 1977, and was married to Eva Marie Kotouc on October 15, 1983, at the First United Methodist Church in Nevada. David worked various jobs throughout his life, including as a truck driver, mechanic, and bus driver.
David enjoyed playing video games, watching television, and bowling. He was associated with the First United Methodist Church in Nevada.
Survivors include his wife, Eva; two daughters, Brandy (David Cram) Slaybaugh of Nevada, and Catherine Slaybaugh and fiancé Dan Kramer of Ankeny; a granddaughter, Jena Rose; his stepmother, Alice Slaybaugh of Nevada; a brother, Steve Slaybaugh of Nevada; as well as other extended family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Ryan Funeral Home has been entrusted with the care of David and his family.

“Eva and family, so sorry for your loss. David was a man of his word an as his health and evHen as his health was not very good ill managed to help his neighbors during the summer months with their mowing and yard work. If there is anything we can do please let us know.

“So sorry to hear of Dave's passing. Dave was like a big brother to me when we first met and in the years to follow. Sadly enough times gets busy and with family and work obligations people lose track of each other.
To Eva and daughter of I'm so sorry for your loss. I send out prayers for you all during this difficult time and in the days to come may you all find peace from this loss.
