Barbara Ostrem, age 98, of Peoria, AZ, and formerly of the Nevada area, died at Peoria Post Acute & Rehabilitation on Saturday, November 24, 2018.

Memorial services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, December 20, 2018, at Ryan Funeral Home in Nevada. Burial will follow in the Nevada Municipal Cemetery.

Born May 11, 1920, in Des Moines, Iowa, Barbara Ann Ostrem was the daughter of George and Ethyle (Corkins) Ostrem. Barbara enjoyed shopping, playing the piano and helping her father in his dental office.

Survivors include several cousins and other extended family members. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents.

Ryan Funeral Home of Nevada has been entrusted with the care of Barbara and her family.

“When I was growing up, I spent a lot of time with Barbara in Nevada, IA. She loved to dance and had a boyfriend so they would go to the Sportsclub in Nevada to dance. She also loved jewelry and always had a purse with her. I visited her and her mother several times in AZ, then visited Barbara several times
after her mother passed away, but then lost track of her as she was moved to a different place and I could
never get it touch with or send any cards. I think she thought of me as a younger sister and I will miss her.
Am sorry that I had to miss her service, but this is the first time(3/10/19) that I've had any information about 166her service or even seeing her obituary.”
