“Shawn was a wise woman. She was an outstanding cook and her catering skills were unmatched. She played a larger part in people's lives than she knew. She was present at both off my children's births and cut their umbilical cords. She also provided daycare for them as younger children. I loved her, as many did. She taught may lessons and a few recipes. She and her knowledge will be missed.”

“Shawn and I spent many years together. I loved her deeply and my years in Iowa were some of the best in my life. I learned so much about life and love in Iowa. I wish I could be there and see all of the children and grandchildren of my Iowa family. I am sorry I never made it back for a reunion before she passed. Love and peace. ”

“Shawn was one of the best friends anyone could have. She always claimed to be a "growly old bear" but her friends knew how to get into her "honey pot". You will be dearly missed and always loved Shawn Hanson.. We love you!”
