“I have wonderful memories of Lori over the years, from when we visited when I was little to her coming to see us for our annual visits back to Iowa. As everyone else, when I picture her in my mind, she is always smiling. She was a wonderful person as are her siblings. Aunt Marge whom I loved dearly, is also in my mind with a smile on her face, even though she did not have an easy life. She instilled that attitude and love in her children, to keep smiling. She was a great nurse and a wonderful, warm and caring human being. My condolences and prayers to all of you.

“Dear Sheely and Bappe Families,
A person such as Lori only comes around once in a lifetime.
If anyone was ever meant to become a care giver, it was Lori.
Just think of the lives she touched in her life time. Being
in a room with her made you feel better than when you entered,
not only because of her warm, cheerful and caring ways but her
smile and optimistic views of life and yes; her contagious laugh.
May God go with you in the lonely days ahead and give you strength
and peace. The beautiful memories of her life are ours to keep and
honor and share. She was an Angel to many while she was here on
earth and Heaven is rejoicing with her goodness....
You have our deepest sympathy in the loss of your wife, mother,
sister, our cousin and friend. We deeply feel your loss.
Rita and Jack Holmes”

“We are saddened to hear about Lori. Both of us remember working with her at Story Medical and keeping in touch with her later on at Mercy. She had that unmistakable laugh and “high energy”. She was all about her patient and her providers and did whatever she could to provide each with the best experience possible. And of course, everything revolved around Rod and her boys! Although she always found time to get a friendly jab in at her brother Dan.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to your family during this difficult time.

“Dear Rod, Christopher, Jeremy, and family:
My heart aches for your loss. Lori had a remarkable way of giving part of herself to everyone she ever met. She was kind, funny, intelligent and loving. This world will not be the same without her in it. Each of you carries part of her with you and in this way, she will live on through you. I know her spirit will be with you always until you are reunited in heaven. May God comfort you and grant you peace in the coming days.
Love,
Chris Umbertino (childhood friend of Shari's and Lori's)”

“I have known Lori since she began working at Mercy many years ago. Lori loved being a nurse and took great pride in her many years in her profession. Operating Room nursing in particular was her passion. She freely shared her wealth of knowledge and experience and enjoyed the role she played in launching many others on their career in surgery. Lori was even prouder of her family, each of whom she loved very much. Lori was one of a kind and will be missed greatly!”
