Born December 4, 1926, on her grandparents’ farm in Story County, Iowa, Josephine Bernice (Anderson) Heintz was the daughter of Amos and Stella (Sampson) Anderson.  She graduated from Fernald Consolidated High School in 1944, then attended nurses training in Des Moines.

Survivors include four sons, Stephen (Delores) Heintz of Carrollton, TX, Dan (Judy) Heintz, Lynn (LuAnn) Heintz, and Gary (Donna Bairey) Heintz, all of Nevada; and a daughter-in-law, Cyndie Heintz of Nevada.  Josephine and Joseph’s legacy also includes 16 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.  She is also survived by a brother, Allen (Gloria) Anderson of Cedar Rapids; two sisters, Mary Jean (Ted) Mueller of Redwing, MN, and Ruth (Jack) Perkins of Iowa City; a sister-in-law, Lola Anderson of Nevada; and numerous nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Joseph Dale on November 18, 2013; a son, Bruce Heintz on September 9, 2004; and a brother, Marley Anderson.
