Patricia Olinger, age 66, of Nevada, Iowa, died Friday, October 17, 2014, at Story County Medical Center in Nevada.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m., Monday, October 20, 2014, at Memorial Lutheran Church in Nevada, with Pastor David R. Burling officiating. Burial will be in the Nevada Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church one hour prior to services on Monday.
Born November 4, 1947, in Iowa Falls, Iowa, Patricia Marie (Wilson) Olinger was the daughter of Garold and Lola (Vierkandt) Wilson. She graduated from Iowa Falls High School in 1965, then attended AIB in Des Moines. On November 5, 1967, she married Richard Dean Olinger in Iowa Falls. The couple settled in Nevada in 1971, where they raised their three sons: Craig, Scott, and Dan.
Pat worked many years at JC Penney’s in Ames, retiring as Human Resources Manager in 2007. She enjoyed quilting and sewing, traveling, and reading. Most of all, Pat loved visiting her children and grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband, Richard; three sons, Craig (Trish) Olinger of Pewaukee, WI, Scott (Kristi) Olinger of Wichita, KS, and Dan (Julie) Olinger of Walnut Creek, CA; seven grandchildren, Madelyn, Ethan, Leah, Brad, Jack, Adam, and Sarah; a brother, Dennis (Judy) Wilson of Iowa Falls; a sister, Betty (Gene) Kuhlman of Tulsa, OK; and many extended family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Robert Wilson.
Ryan Funeral Home of Nevada has been entrusted with the care of Patricia and her family. Memorials in Patricia’s name may be directed to Memorial Lutheran Church of Nevada.
