Harvey Shaeffer, age 74, of Maxwell, Iowa, died Sunday, November 30, 2014, at Story County Medical Center in Nevada.  Private family memorial services will be held at a later date.

Born November 15, 1940, in Tracy, Minnesota, Harvey David Shaeffer was the son of Rev. Survivors include his children, Harvey Shaeffer, Jr. of Nevada, and Leslie Shaeffer of Ankeny; Dana Shaeffer of Mountain View, AR; two sisters, Julia (David) Bork of Des Moines, and Harriett “Hattie” (Larry) Young of Winterset; and several nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a nephew, Douglas P. Bork.

Ryan Funeral Home of Nevada has been entrusted with the care of Harvey and his family.

“To Harvey's family:
Harvey was one of our Classmates in the West Liberty High School Class of 1958. When I visited my folks in Cedar Rapids years ago, I would stop and visit Harvey at the bank where he worked. Also enjoyed visiting with him at our class reunions every 5 years. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family.
