Graveside memorial services for Forrest (Toy) and Myrtle Pointer of the Collins and Maxwell area, will be held 3:00 p.m. Sunday, July 26, 2015, at the Maxwell Cemetery, with Tom Lee officiating.
Forrest Pointer was born April 3, 1924, in Collins, Iowa. He passed away on January 10, 2007. He graduated from Collins High School and served in the United States Navy during World War II. Over the years, Forrest ran a Standard Oil service station with his brother, Don Pointer, in Collins, worked at Solar Aircraft in Des Moines, and later was employed by Williams Cylinder Head in Nevada.
Myrtle (Haley) Pointer was born January 14, 1926, in Clear Creek Township. She passed away on December 14, 2014. Myrtle attended Collins High School. She was employed at Bourns Lab in Ames and at Donnelley Marketing in Nevada.
Forrest and Myrtle were united in marriage on March 18, 1947, in Kansas City, MO. Survivors include their son, Randy Pointer of Spring, TX; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and other extended family members. Their daughter, Judy Nowning, preceded them in death.
Ryan Funeral Home of Nevada has been entrusted with the care of Forrest and Myrtle and their family.
