Myrtle Pointer, age 88, of Madrid, and formerly of the Collins and Maxwell areas, died Sunday, December 14, 2014, at the Madrid Home.
Per her wishes, Myrtle was cremated. Memorial services will be held at a later date with burial in the Maxwell Cemetery. Ryan Funeral Home of Nevada has been entrusted with the care of Myrtle and her family.
Born January 14, 1926, in Jasper County, Iowa, Myrtle (Haley) Pointer was the daughter of Wilbur and Sella (Neal) Haley. She attended school in Ashton and Collins, and was united in marriage to Forest Pointer on March 18, 1947, in Kansas City, Missouri.
Myrtle worked at Bourns Laboratory in Ames for several years. She and Forest were blessed with two children, Judy and Randy.
Survivors include a son, Randy Pointer of Spring, TX; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren; as well as nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Forest in 2007; a daughter, Judy Nowning; a sister; and five brothers.
