Jane Setzer, age 96, of Nevada, Iowa, died Saturday, September 29, 2018, at Rolling Green Village in Nevada.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 3, 2018, at Ryan Funeral Home in Nevada, with visitation from 9:00 a.m. until service time.  Burial will follow in the Nevada Municipal Cemetery. 

Jane Elizabeth (Glasgow) Setzer was born October 9, 1921, in Maxwell, Iowa, to Ernest and Blanche (Huffman) Glasgow.  She grew up and received her education in Maxwell, then attended AIB in Des Moines.  She married George Setzer on November 7, 1942, in Des Moines and was blessed with two sons, Jon and Tom.  The couple farmed near Maxwell and in 1960 made their home in Nevada. 

Jane worked for a time at Donnelley Marketing in Nevada, then was employed as secretary to the Junior High School principal for over 20 years.  She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Nevada.  Jane loved to shop.  She will be remembered for her love of people and her ability to have a conversation with anyone.

Left to mourn Jane’s passing are two sons, Jon (Loretta) Setzer of Littleton, CO, and Tom (Deb Gray) Setzer of Nevada; a granddaughter, Brenda (Larry) Johnson of Littleton, CO; two step-grandchildren, Aaron (Cassie) Croker and daughter Ayla of Collins, and Elizabeth Croker of Nevada; and two great-grandchildren, Chase and Courtney.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and a great-grandson, Blake Johnson.
