Debra Mangold, age 65, of Nevada, died Monday, November 5, 2018, at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines.

Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, November 9, 2018, at Ryan Funeral Home in Nevada with Pastor David Burling officiating.  Memorial visitation will begin one hour prior to services. 

Debra Kay Mangold was born August 21, 1953, in Sioux City, Iowa.  She graduated from Boone High School and worked in various capacities throughout her lifetime, including at area restaurants.  On April 21, 1986, she was married to Keith Glen Mangold in Omaha, Nebraska.

Deb loved baking, watching wrestling on television, reading, and crafting.  She found great pleasure in the company of her family and friends.

Survivors include two children, Joseph Ross and special friend Amy Joslin of Fort Dodge, and Jodi Mangold and fiancé Josh Bartmess; a granddaughter; her father, Roger Brookins; a brother, Otis (Tina) Brookins of Bagley; two sisters, Sandy (Charles) Culver of Scottsborough, AL, and Brenda (Alvin) Bass of Boone; as well as other extended family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband Keith on May 3, 2018; a daughter, Richelle Marie; her mother, Wanda (Hannan) Brookins; and a sister, Van Bora Teasdale.

“Debbie was my cousin on my dad's side. I remember some of the times when all the cousins were together in Sioux City. My sister, Jackee, was very close to Debbie and the family. My sister and older brother, Clayton kept in touch regularly with her. I know the world was a better place with Debbie in it and condolences to her kids and her friends and other family members.”

“It is with a heavy Heart that I send My Prayers out for the family an friends of Debbie The name she preferred.when I knew Her. Some things that I remember from our life together include. We Bowled an played cards together. We worked together on the Lutheran Church Finance Committee an for a time she was a soldiers wife which was not always a easy thing to be. She gave me my first born son sn she will be missed. ”
