Roger Ingledue, age 82, of Ames, Iowa, died Tuesday, March 4, 2014, at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames.
Memorial services were held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 10, 2014, at Grace United Methodist Church in Spencer, Iowa. Reverend Wayne Clark will officiate, assisted by Reverend Kay Hooper. Burial will be in Clemons Cemetery, Clemons, Iowa, at a later date.
Born April 17, 1931, in Johnson County, Iowa, Roger Dean Ingledue was the son of Tom C. and Pearl E. (Griffith) Ingledue. He was later adopted by his mother's second husband, John "Jack" Carter. Roger grew up and attended school in Marshalltown, graduating from Marshalltown High School in 1949. He served in the United States Navy for several years, then returned to Iowa where he earned his bachelor's degree in agriculture from Iowa State University.
On February 14, 1953, Roger was united in marriage to Margie Ann Hux in Marshalltown. The couple was blessed with three children, Roger, Debbie, and David.
Roger was employed as Sales Manager for Funk Brothers Seed Corn Company. He had a serving heart and will be remembered as a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather. In earlier years, Roger participated in the Gideon Society and Masonic Lodge. He possessed a strong faith which sustained him well throughout his life.
Roger is survived by his wife of 61 years, Margie; three children, Roger (Jane) Ingledue of Spencer, Debbie Cabello of Arlington, TX, and David (Jamie) Ingledue of Cat Mountain, CO; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a brother, Tom C. (Jackie) Ingledue of Kaneohe, HI.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his second father, John "Jack" Carter; and a granddaughter, Emilee Cabello.
Ryan Funeral Home of Nevada was entrusted with the care of Roger and his family.
