Diana Green, age 66, of Nevada, Iowa, died Monday, April 14, 2014, at Story County Medical Center in Nevada.
A Celebration of Diana's Life was held from Noon-4 p.m. on Saturday, April 19, 2014, at the Senior Community Center in Nevada.
Born July 2, 1947, in Marshall County, Iowa, Diana Jean Green was the daughter of Harold Richard and Doris Lucy (Cable) Smith. She attended Collins Community School until the 10th grade and later earned her GED. Most recently, Diana made her home in Nevada and worked in the area as a waitress for many years. She loved to play Bingo, work puzzles and other games, and also enjoyed camping and fishing.
Survivors include three sons, Allen Harmon of Nevada, Jim Harmon of Nevada, and Gerry Bailey and fiancée Danelle Brown of Story City; 17 grandchildren; Cory, Nicole, Samantha, Taron, Brittnee, Zachary, Jacob, Alyssa, Alexander, Mazzie, Kelsey, Kaylee, Brilyn, Gracee, Taylor, Madison, and Derek; three great-grandchildren, Kyla, Noah, and Sofia; a brother, Dennis (Paula) Smith of Altoona; two sisters, Linda Wolf of Nevada, and Kathy (Joe) Halverstat of Newton; as well as many nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Chad Bailey and Brian Harmon; and a sister, Cindy Adams.
Ryan Funeral Home of Nevada was entrusted with the care of Diana and her family.
